Privacy

Here's what other runners can see, what stays private, and what we do with the comparison data. No lawyer voice.

What's public

If you join a goal with a public membership, you appear on that leaderboard. Co-members see a set of numbers computed from your runs: total distance since you joined, run count and consistency, average pace, longest run, current streak, and your progress toward the target.

They also see your display name in the form you choose. There are three options: your full name, your first name + last initial, or your member number only. New accounts default to first name + last initial — that is the default until you change it in settings.

Your race bib appears on the public homepage only if you're the most recent onboarded joiner. It rotates to the next person as soon as someone else finishes onboarding.

What's private

Your individual runs stay private in their detail — the route or map, the exact duration, and your full run history are never shown to other runners. They only feed the computed stats above.

One exception, to be explicit: when you log a run on a goal where your membership is public, the other members of that goal see a single activity-feed line — your name, that run's distance, and roughly when — so the board feels alive. They don't see the route, the duration, or anything else about that run.

Your email address is never shown to other runners and never sold. We use it only for login and transactional messages.

A membership you set to private hides you from that group entirely — you still see your own stats, but nobody else in the group sees you at all.

Any raw CSV or GPX file you upload is kept private to you. We use it to build your runs and nothing else.

How comparison data is used

The stats on a leaderboard are computed from your runs and shown only to co-members of the same goal, and only while your membership for that goal is public.

This is enforced by the database — Postgres row level security (RLS) — not just by the interface. If a query shouldn't be able to see your data, the database refuses it.

We look only at aggregate, non-identifying numbers to run and improve the product. No person-level browsing of your runs.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't post anything on your behalf anywhere. And there is no leaderboard you can't opt out of — set a single membership to private, or set your whole account to private by default.

Controls

Your profile settings hold your default visibility, per-goal overrides, and your display-name form. If anything here feels wrong, tell us through feedback.

That's the whole deal. Plain numbers, shared with the people training alongside you, and nothing more.
